I'm using the Generate Theme and changed the background color under the Appearance/Background menu and nothing happens.
I tried searching your forum but that's a useless function. Your previous forum layout was so much nicer, especially the ability to explore/search within a particular theme. This new general category with everything included is essentially useless and the search is as bad as the one in Apple's discussion forum. I used to explore the forum to learn from what others are doing, but that's simply not possible with your current setup. From a user's standpoint, it's BAD!!!

Shouting off about the forum not being as good as it used to be isn't a great way to get help. The new forum is a community driven forum and the old forum has been replaced by a new support ticket system.
Have you tried submitting a support ticket for this?
Also, not including a link to your site doesn't help people to help you. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you if you can provide a link.

February 26, 2013 at 12:15 pm #22943lreader18MemberHi Chris,
I've got a question for you: I am using AgentPress and am having the same problem, do you have any ideas for a solution?
The link to the site is http://www.toddwalshccim.com/ -- the background image (color) and the header are only appearing on the main page.
Please let me know if you can help; thank you!

Thanks for your input. I didn't include a link to my website because the problem existed on my local computer only (testing a new website). When I setup my first website almost 2 years ago I utilized the old forum constantly to learn about my theme in particular, along with all the other issues that are part of customizing a theme. I had no prior website experience. In all that time I only put in one support ticket. The majority of my questions were easily answered via the community (most of the time I didn't need to ask a question - I could find answers via the search function).
This new "community" is a generic forum, the same quality as any other newly established company would put in place due to limited resources and programming capability. This is a step backwards for Studio Press (in my opinion). I can implement the background changes via CSS - no problem. I just thought that it should be quick and easy since it's supposedly part of the theme.
Oh well, no big deal. Didn't mean to rain on your community.
Take care,
Mike

I'm sorry you feel that way, we're all just volunteers, we're not paid staff and we do try and answer questions as fast as we can, you can even help answer questions yourself 😉

Hi Lauren,
It seems you're using the Red variation of the theme which has it's own background image. You need to find the following in your style.css file on line 2322:
body.agentpress-red {
background: url(images/red/bg.png);
}And change it to:
body.agentpress-red {
background-image: url('http://www.toddwalshccim.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/background-blog.jpg');
background-repeat: repeat;
background-position: top left;
background-attachment: fixed;
}Let me know if that works.
