Hi,
I just updated my wordpress and purchased the newest version of Genesis. I first deactivated all plugins. The wordpress update went somewhat fine except that when trying to click on the themes or Genesis area in my dashboard I was getting a 500 internal server error. I then purchased the most recent version of Genesis and reinstalled and it seemed to deactivate all themes and my pages went to straight content, no formatting. I still had the 500 error when trying to access the theme area, but could now get into the Genesis area. I noticed that the child theme was still activated so thinking this may be the problem, since i couldn't access the themes, I went through ftp and deleted all child themes and plugins and no change. Lastly, I deleted Genesis and now it is just white and blank when viewing my site.I can still access everything through my dashboard except for the themes area. I see that even with no theme folders in my directory it must still be calling the child theme as that what is says on the homepage of my dashboard. I called my hosting provider and they feel that the Genesis version must not be compatible with the newest version of WordPress. I cannot imagine this is the problem as I have since removed the Genesis folder.
Can you give me some ideas as to what to do next? I have a new version of WordPress and Genesis and just want them to play nice together. Thanks!

WordPress will always try to load it's latest default theme when you disable other child themes. You should probably start by reinstalling WordPress.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?April 26, 2015 at 3:04 am #149178upthinkParticipantI think that the theme it is looking for it called Nomadic. Is it one of the themes that you deleted? If yes then hopefully you took a backup and can restore the files for that one
