new to genesis so bear with me!
am using the sample template and want to have an image slider before the posts that only takes up the width of the posts column. I can do this but the sidebar stays level with the post and I cannot get it to be level with the images.
e.g. here http://www.southnewington.com/ant
i want the right hand sidebar to line up with "this is a test" (which i'll replace with a slider when it works )
looks like i'm trying to achieve similar to the news pro theme.
any help / guidance appreciated.
What hook did you use for the slider area? You likely need to move it down to a lower hook so the sidebar will appear beside it. This site should help you: http://genesistutorials.com/visual-hook-guide/
its on the genesis_before_content Hook
the one after that is before the loop which means it would appear on every page doesnt it? just want it to be on the homepage
If you look at the link above, the genesis_before_content hook is before the content sidebar wrap. If you need it to display with the sidebar beside it, try genesis_loop or genesis_before_entry.
If you paste in your function I'll tell you how to alter it so this shows up only on the homepage.
decided not to go with that layout in the end! interested to know how you just get it to work on the one page though if its simple? thanks
thanks will have a look
