I've been trying to make a border for the Genesis Responsive Slider (widgeted one) with about 8 px of padding. I've been trying it in google's devoloper tool, but although I type in the right code (?) by the look of it, it just makes a line through it when I've finished the line of code OR it stays ticked but nothing shows on the page.
I'm thinking that I would put it in the style sheet for that plugin, yes?

I would really appreciate some help with this.
Many thanks.November 22, 2013 at 2:07 pm #75072cwalshMemberThe plugin stylesheet takes precedence over any styles that you add to your theme stylesheet. If you add !important to the end of your css values that will give it priority over the existing styles, for instance
padding: 10px !important;

November 23, 2013 at 9:28 am #75195speedmouseParticipantMany thanks Cwalsh but if you can comment on the following it would be very helpful...
In the stylesheet of the G. Responsive Slider it has this right at the top:
#genesis-responsive-slider { background-color: #fff; border: 10px solid #eee; margin: 0 auto; padding: 10px; position: relative; }
...but when I look at the demo site for Executive Pro there is no border at all!:

Many thanks for your help 🙂

Look for a adjust this css in your theme. Change padding to padding: 8px and that will add the border of padding you want.
.content #genesis-responsive-slider { background: none; border: 0; padding: 0; }

I've made the size of the slider to 80% but I can't find the way to make the border follow - any tip as to what I'm looking for to tell it to also become 80% so it fits the size of the slider?!

.content #genesis-responsive-slider
in your stylesheet. It may need amargin: 0 auto;
for centering but that should cut down the overall size of the container.
