I am styling our blog to match out website. blog.towelsrus.co.uk & http://www.towelsrus.co.uk

I need to add some areas and then style them like a search box area and basket area. How do i register new boxes or areas to then play around with?

    Thanks Craig

You’ll need to be a bit more specific than that please.

You can create new widget area’s, add content columns or use colored content boxes.

Creating widgets depends on which hook location you want them to display and other factors.

    Hi Brad,

I am looking at the header in particular and would like to add the box in the top right of the website to the blog (its the shopping cart with the blue bag inside it) Whilst this won’t be functional i want to make the 2 site look as identical as possible.

Same goes for locating the search box. I’d probably make this a content search rather than product search.

    Thanks

    Craig

    Here’s the hook locations http://genesistutorials.com/visual-hook-guide/

You can either create a widget in that location, use the Simple Hooks plugin or create a custom function.
