I am having trouble creating an image map here: http://nwsocialworkers.com/portland-state-university-continuing-education/
This is my code (below) but when I view source it appears to have stripped out the map code???
Any suggestions?

Just curious.

June 6, 2015 at 3:42 pm #155135cdcalvertMemberAdvertisers have been sending me their ads as image files but want multiple links to work. I thought adding an image map would be quicker than keying in all the information, extracting the images and applying the CSS to match their image file. When I "view source" in my Chrome browser, all the map coordinate code is missing, yet when I go back to the "edit post" page in WordPress the code is still there???
June 6, 2015 at 3:55 pm #155137MoodyRivieraMemberOK, I see.
Have you tried something like these?
http://learn.wpeditpro.com/image-map/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/responsive-image-maps/
Of course you can create an image map in Photoshop or other image-editing software...maybe you could do that and maybe you could embed that into your WordPress page or post.

June 6, 2015 at 5:02 pm #155140cdcalvertMemberThanks for your responses. Yes, I have experimented with both those plugin options. I created the image map in DreamWeaver. I have not tried it in PhotoShop.
June 6, 2015 at 6:59 pm #155146MoodyRivieraMemberWhat happened with the plugins? Just wouldn't work at all, or not quite what you were looking for?

June 7, 2015 at 8:54 am #155199cdcalvertMemberThe Responsive Image Maps plugin simply packages the RWD Image Maps jQuery to be responsive. That was looking more complex than I wanted.
Looking into this one now: http://codecanyon.net/item/image-map-hotspot-wordpress-plugin/5586825
June 9, 2015 at 8:44 am #155570cdcalvertMemberI have tried several plugins that do not work. I spoke with a WordPress core contributor and she said that the map tag is deprecated so WordPress strips out the code. Thanks for your help!
June 9, 2015 at 9:15 am #155577MoodyRivieraMemberReally? So, in other words, she's saying that it's impossible to use an image map in WordPress???
