Curious if anybody advocates keeping utilitarian images in a separate folder that can be uploaded quickly via FTP, as opposed to using the native WP media uploader. Plugins have their own images folders, and for the purposes of this question I'm talking about images like spacers, social icons (facebook, twitter, etc.), and the like. Why not just keep them in a separate folder, use the direct path url, and be done with it? Thanks for the feedback.
That's right. You can use your images folder however once they're uploaded using the native Media function, you can easily select them for insertion.
