    Greetings,

I would first like to mention that I’m a total newb. Second, I would like to thank anyone in advance for any help with my situation.

    My specific question:

“How would I link my custom menu links to the various home sections in my paralax pro install?” I would like to keep most of my site down to this first main page, with the exception of my blog page and possibly a portfolio page. I’ve tried some variations using the ‘link’ options in the menu page, but it keeps turning it into an http link…

I’ve done a little research – both in this forum and out (including wordpress.org) – and even remember the good ol days using anchor text, but haven’t found a clear answer yet to my question. Some close ones, which actually included some anchor text as a possible answer, but nothing specifically (step by step) telling me where to place the anchor text and link id.

Feeling a bit lost and do apologize for the basic question.

You could use anchor links using the unique ID of the widget. For example, “We Can Also Talk A Little Shop” has widget ID “text-5″, so you could link to #text-5. However, since you have a fixed position navigation, that will cover up the title.

Thank you for your help Lauren.

Please remember that I am a total newb to wp. Where would those links go? Not in the menu screen, right? Because the closest possibility is the link option and it needs an http…

So there is no actual, correct solution given mt ‘sticky’ nav bar?

    Thanks again,
    Gabriel

The menu screen is correct. It doesn’t need an http, just put #text-5 in the link box.

Thank you once again Lauren. I see what you meant about the sticky menu bar. Too bad the subject line doesn’t have an ID… :(

I will have to forget about the menu links for now until I find a better option.

Take a look at the site now though – if you’re interested.

Slowly but surely it is growing! This is barely a first rough. Later will come the key-word research, seo optimization, more detailed content, and fine tweaks in order to get this baby humming and attractive to its visitors.

Thanks again and have a wonderful night!

It’s looking good Gabriel! Keep at it. :)

If you still want to add those links, you could edit the parallax home template and add in your own anchors. For each widget area, add a unique ID to it.

    Best,
    Lauren
