[Minimum] Set homepage number of post

Hi to all,

I’ve just purchased the Minimum theme and I’d like to manage how many posts are shown on the homepage separately from those that can be reached from blog page.

How can I set for example 6 blog post for the homepage while having 10 for the blog? If I simply change reading settings, both are affected.

Hi Matteo,

Add this code to the end of your functions.php file in the minimum folder:

Then you can adjust the value (currently 15) to however many posts you’d like. The value of 10 from the Settings->Reading will not impact this.

on the demo homepage you can see 6 post while in the blog “homepage”, you can count 5 posts.

Sorry Matteo—either the forum stripped the link or I pasted it badly. Either way possible.

The code in the gist above, in your functions.php of minimum, let’s you control, specifically, the number of posts on the home page. The example is at 15, you can change that as you desire.

I was able to get the gist through the email notification.

Problem is the new value (my desired # of posts) is shown both in homepage and homepage.com/blog.

Huh. It shouldn’t do that.

Can you send the links to your actual site? Have you made any additional modifications to Minimum beyond this?

I can’t duplicate the behavior I’m seeing on your site and not sure why.

Trying to think of routes to check:

1. Have you made any other modifications to Minimum’s function.php or other php files?

2. Have you double-checked the Setting->Readings is set to what you’ll like to see on the blog template.

3. Confirm that the blog page is a page with the blog template set on the right side of the page edit screen.
