Hello,
I’ve just started working with the AgentPress child theme, and I’m not sure how to change the position of the elements on the home page.
How do I go about moving the Featured Listings and Communities sections to below the From the Blog section?
Thanks,
Penny
January 10, 2013 at 7:38 pm #11094I’m curious about this as well. I have seen other deployments of AgentPress, where Communities widget area was moved just about the footer area. Shifting the content Featured Bottom Left and Featured Bottom Right higher.
Thanks,
Eric
January 10, 2013 at 7:58 pm #11102The simple answer is that you’d edit your child theme’s home.php, which controls the home page layout.
However, be careful, because even a minor typo in PHP can break your site. If you’re just setting up, that’s no probem, but if you have a live site, your site will be down until you identify and fix the error.

January 10, 2013 at 9:57 pm #11136What slider plugin do most use for the Agentpress site? I made the mistake of uploading the sample info to the agentpress theme, and can’t seem to get the home page layout back? What am I missing?
Thanks, Roger
January 10, 2013 at 10:10 pm #11138Uploading sample info is fine, but you have to be sure to trash and sample content and then empty your post/page trash and deactivate any unused plugins. To be really thorough, one could also use PHPMyAdmin to remove settings of plugins that will never be used again.
The AgentPress theme isn’t responsive, but you can still use a mobile responsive slider. The Genesis Responsive Slider ought to work fine. Check your inactive widgets and make sure the widgets you want active are where you placed them. If you’ve changed things around, that could explain what you’re seeing. You can check the theme’s setup instructions for where to place widgets.
