    Hi everyone,

    I need, if possible, to have more than 1 widget in the same widget area side by side, not one under the other. Say, for example, i need to put 2 200px-wide and 300px-high widgets in a 400px wide and 300px-high Featured-top area.

    I am using the news theme.

    The site is test.milanoinmovimento.com (still in beta).

    Thanks for yor help!

    You can duplicate the home middle left and home middle right widgets in the home.php, functions.php and style.css files and rename them.

    Another way to do this would be to add content columns in the home top widget.

    Hi Brad,

    I have actually already duplicated the widgets (I now have 10 widget areas on my homepage): I was trying to reduce the number for page speed and to simplify the code.

    I have seen the content columns page but I am not sure how to apply that to a whole widget area… can you please help?

    thanks!

    Add the CSS code to your child themes style.css file and then add the HTML for the columns to your widgets.

    I’ve also just published a post about how to change the home top widget into home top left and right widgets.

    I have copied the CSS code in my child theme CSS file.

    When you say “add the HTML for the columns to your widgets” how exactly should I do that?

    Simply copy the HTML from the view raw link of any of these HTML snippets and paste it into a text widget which you can drag into your widget area.

    That’s what i was trying to do, i must have got it wrong.

    It should look like:

    TEXT WIDGET
    <div class=”one-half first”>

    MY FIRST COLUM WIDGET(S)

    TEXT WIDGET
    <div>

    TEXT WIDGET
    <div class=”one-half”>

    MY SECOND COLUM WIDGET(S)

    TEXT WIDGET
    <div>

    is this right?
