    Hi there,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab Tablet. When I try to go to my site (http://www.sightandsoundreading.com) on my tablet, I am getting a 500 error. I just spoke with my host for an hour and we finally were able to get to the root cause. It says:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function genesis_get_option() in /home/sightan5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/genesis-featured-content-widget/gs-featured-content-widget.php

So, looks like maybe something related to genesis may be failing on the tablet so that i can't see anything? Thoughts? Thanks for your help! I just don't understand why it is just the Samsung Tablet it is not working on... everything else seems to do okay when I disable the plugin...

This has nothing to do with the Genesis Framework. The plugin you are using is an old third party plugin that hasn't been updated in over 2 years. It is only compatible with WordPress version 3.6.1 or lower.

Thank you. I deactivated and the page now loads but looks awful/not loading correctly. Is there a genesis plugin that works the same way?

Have you tried the built-in Genesis Featured Post or Genesis Featured Page widgets?

I tested this and would like to provide this feedback you might want to know.

The problem is not caused by the plugin not being updated.

The problem is caused because you don't have Genesis active when you have the plugin active. genesis_get_option will return a fatal error in the plugin as the plugin relies on Genesis.

However, the plugin should include a check to make sure Genesis in active before using the function so it doesn't return an error when Genesis is not active.

I figured it out! I did end up deleting the Genesis Sandbox plugin... that allowed the content not to be blocked on the android. Unfortunately, though, it left my site on Android still looking terrible. I deactivated all plugins and reactivated each one and I found another plugin that was causing the problem on the Android - so.. everything works now! 2 plugins deleted... and 1 site up and running again! Thank you for your suggestions and help!
