I'm using the Minimum Pro theme and I can't for the life of me work out how to do 2 things:
1) On my front page I want to completely remove the footer and elements. I've added the below code to the front-page/php and this seems to remove styling but not the actual footer:
remove_action('genesis_footer', 'genesis_footer_markup_open', 5);
remove_action('genesis_footer', 'genesis_footer_markup_close', 15);
2) How do I edit the line "Copyright, The Start of Happiness 2012. Powered by the Genesis Framework" in the footer for the remainder of my site?
I've used Simple Edits and this is not doing this trick. I edited some code over a year ago to get it to it's current state and I've got absolutely no idea where that code is Any thoughts on where this code is normally kept? It's not in my functions.php.
The footer <div> is gone from your homepage, but the text is still there, which is why it's still showing up. Have you looked in your Genesis theme settings for any footer scripts? Sometimes people place code there by mistake.
Once you figure out where and how the footer text got added, you can remove it and the footer should stop showing up on the homepage. I actually just released a lightweight plugin to change the footer text that will work for the rest of the site (though it won't work until you find and remove whatever is there now): http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-custom-footer
