I am trying to figure out why my site is loading so slow. According to GTMetrix, I rank a 98% but my load time is still around 57 seconds. Everything is an A, except for specify image dimensions for only about 10 images. I don't think this is causing the load time to be so long. If it is the cause, how do I fix it?
I have changed themes (which didn't help - same slow load time problem). I am using Genesis 2.2.7; theme is Elise from One Happy Studio. I am also using WooCommerce plugin. I am also using Autoptimize, Regenerate Thumbnails, WP Smush, WP Super Cache as well to help with the load time.
My website is http://www.preggiebaby.com. I am currently using Hostgator.
Hostgator doesn't think it's a problem on their end, so I am trying to figure out what it is.I currently have these plugins active:

WP Super CacheMarch 16, 2016 at 11:41 am #1815662dogsdesignMemberI just took a quick peak....one thing i see (and you can see this under the waterfall tab in GT Metrix) is the long load time for something called get_refreshed_fragments ---- I have not done a woocommerce site lately...but found this thread: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-disable-cart-fragmentsminjsver2020?replies=7

March 16, 2016 at 12:44 pm #181576carasmoParticipantHostGator has been a crappy host since they got bought out by EIG and won't admit anything is ever their problem. I moved my site to inMotion hosting and it was significantly faster.
I did a speed test and your server is very slow, so it's not all you. Mine responds in 0.73 seconds (still slow but it's usually 0.29).

March 16, 2016 at 12:51 pm #181580zoe1416MemberHostgator is incredibly crappy. I've noticed that too, their support people have no idea what they are talking about 99% of the time. I've tried inMotion Hosting before but I didn't like it either. I guess I will have to try another hosting company.
I deleted the cache on Super Cache but still have same problem. Grr..
March 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm #181581carasmoParticipantYes. FlyWheel, SiteGround, and StableHost are good. I have had a very good experience with inMotion, but I noticed that the higher the price you pay per month the better the service, so don't get the cheapest plan. Things have gone downhill with many hosts, EIG owns HostGator and BlueHost, JustHost and many, many others so when you switch you get the same support (lack of) and the same exact data center, it is horrible. InMotion and the others I mentioned are not owned by EIG. Avoid GoDaddy hosting (even the managed WP) it's impossible to deal with and the support is so bad.
March 16, 2016 at 1:04 pm #181582carasmoParticipantTurn off WP SuperCache (don't deactivate, just turn off caching) then delete cache then turn it back on. Those are the steps I took. However, your server is the major problem.
March 18, 2016 at 2:24 pm #181817zoe1416MemberI got rid of Hostgator, and I switched over to SiteGround (hosting company) and the site works super fast now! Thankfully it wasn't me! It was just Hostgator's ridiculously slow servers!
March 18, 2016 at 2:33 pm #181818carasmoParticipantYay! I know, really crappy servers and it makes you as the developer look like a nitwit when hostgator and all the EIG hosts are so lousy now.
April 17, 2016 at 10:35 am #183782handsunParticipantI am thinking of moving my many sites from hostgator to inmotion, prices are better and support seems pretty good (I started with one small account there just to test them out before I make a big move Any others have experience with inmotion? I would be getting a VPS.
April 18, 2016 at 5:23 am #183816carasmoParticipantI use SiteGround and InMotion, I like SiteGround better for WordPress sites. Their cache is amazing.
April 18, 2016 at 5:32 am #183817handsunParticipantThanks for your input, I need to just give them a call so I can understand their reseller accounts, their site just confuses me. Thanks again.
