Muslin is a type of fabric which is commonly used for clothing, furniture, curtains, and even backdrops. That is made of cotton and originated in India and the Middle Far east. During the 17th century, men and women across Europe started donning clothing made of this material. At the end of 18th century, muslin evolved into a very popular fabric in France and was used for many functions. Since the fabric is very mild and airy, clothing made from this material is perfect for hot, dried out climates. It can also be used in cooking as well, such as for home-scale cheese-making. If you are a member of a theater community or if you value to watch various theater musicals or plays, you are probably already familiar with muslin backdrops.
