You know what, maybe try this first. After I thought about this may work better for you.

Add this to the bottom of your Style.css file.

#text-2 {
width: 10%;
float: right;
}

Try either one to see.

You are trying to place it where your Navigation is located. That space is 75% wide as shown below:

#header .widget-area {

        float: right;
        width: 75%;

}

Change the width to about 35% or 45%. Keep in mind that if you add more links to your Navigation, you may need to widen it again, which would move the icon.

@ebizwildfire there is a WP phpBB Bridge Plugin that you can configure to integrate some of what you want. Take a look, read all the instructions, etc. – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-phpbb-bridge/.

It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Two LIVE sites that I know of whose creators are on this forum are:

1. http://www.myapt.org.uk/

2. http://www.xpat.no/

Is this your first try at building some sort of social networking website? Do you have one right now? What features are you trying to achieve.

Look at your CMS to see if they have an export function. Here is information on Importing from other CMS programs – http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content. See if your CMS is listed and follow their instructions.

To prepare for the import, you can:

1.  Create a new directory on your hosting account, for example, called “new site.”
2.  Install WordPress in the new site.
3.  Then install the Genesis Framework and then your child theme.
4.  Go to Tools > Import and look for the import plugin for your CMS exported file format.
5.  Perform your import.

This way you can do all your testing before you go LIVE.

You can actually take the image and re-color it and then upload it back. You could also remove the image and just colorize those elements like the header, middle body and footer. You can do that with you CSS.

You could use Firebug for Firebug and find the class id’s that way to each one.

The slider was offset. The image that used to be there was not centered. There was extra padding on the right. Also, the thumbnail images in the Demo do not have the shaded border around them any longer, so somehow that was removed from the demo. There’s other little things too that I had to change and other reported some on the forum as well.

I would suggest you read the Genesis Guide for Absolute Beginners – http://www.studiopress.com/news/genesis-for-beginners.htm. The developers really do not advocate you editing the “framework” itself, but installing a child theme and editing from there. You can easily customize the navigations, etc., by using CSS and also add in other functionality by editing the functions.php, home.php and other files located in your child theme. And they have the Genesis Hooks were you can add even more functionality.

I also use another free program you can download called Paint. You can edit Photoshop PSD files with it and also save your newly created files in PSD. Here is the download link  – click the link in the top right corner, not the big one in the middle. That’s a Google Ad.

Paint – http://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html
PSD Plugin – http://psdplugin.codeplex.com/

Install Paint first. Then follow the instructions to install the PSD plugin. I love this one also.

I see you said above you had installed Simple Hooks already. You are trying to call the Meta I believe but that’s not in your code anywhere. I am just sharing how I got mine to work.

If you install and use the Genesis Simple Hooks, you can place the following code in the appropriate Hook area. Here is the Hook Guide.
<!--?php the_meta(); ?-->
