AnitaKeymasterWell, you could designate the top as Featured Area - create a category called Featured. Then the ones below that could be everything but the Featured area.

AnitaKeymasterInstall Nick's Genesis Nav Menu Amplified - it will give you the same settings at the Primary and you can use add it from there - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-nav-menu-amplified/.

AnitaKeymasterOkay, glad it finally worked out for you.

AnitaKeymasterI see you got it to work! {{{ clapping }}}
Yes, I like that one a lot.

AnitaKeymasterThat theme is using a single column left widget area. In your Featured Post - select only 1 blog to show up at the top. Then the only way to get the 2nd and remaining blogs smaller is to drag another Featured Post widget into that area and set the Featured Images to be smaller and set the images at LEFT. This should start to give you what you are looking for.

AnitaKeymasterI just saved it in my Google Docs - here it is - https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1EJ_DVOvx-wWUDQDpNmYDAEObOgQ1M2aSJRbhpRlyxg8

AnitaKeymasterSomething is screwy. Go to http://join.me. Click BASIC and hit the Orange button. It will add a little code on your computer and place a badge with 9 numbers at the top. Go to my website and get my email address - send me the 9 numbers and then I can see your screen.

AnitaKeymasterOh, sorry Susan! I'll wait for him to post his link! Been bouncing around on another problem all day and I'm a bit dizzy!

AnitaKeymasterSee my training site - it works there - http://goo.gl/cb1Ru. So I should be able to fix it for you.

AnitaKeymaster`I see why it's not working - this stupid forum is stripping out part of the code. Where the last line says 'before' there is more code after that.`
Okay do it this way -
Grab Brian's original code - that second part - then add this line after the functions line -
if ( is_home() )
then save it. The code will not copy in here. So just add that line of code to Brian's original code.

AnitaKeymasterYou are using the Sleek Theme? That doesn't appear to be the Sleek theme? If it is, it's been highly customized. The areas you have there have been pre-configured with CSS for the layout you have.

AnitaKeymasterCopy my code below and replace yours and try it again.
/** Add the welcome text section */
add_action( 'genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap', 'custom_welcome_text' );
function custom_welcome_text() {
if ( is_home() )
genesis_widget_area( 'welcome-text', array(
'before' => '',
) );
}

AnitaKeymasterYes, replace the second part of Brian's ORIGINAL code - with that piece of code and it should work. Not sure why your Navigation is disappearing, etc., on your home page. If this doesn't work. We can use Join.me and I can help you virtually.

AnitaKeymasterYes, lower case is fine. Sorry it wasn't indicated - I assumed you already knew to do that. Unless you did other modifications to your theme, I just installed the same theme on my demo - made those changes including the one for front page only and it works fine. It did not break the theme.

AnitaKeymasterIn this code here: did you change the theme name highlighted int he code to be YOUR THEME NAME. Check that.
/** Register widget areas */
genesis_register_sidebar( array(
'id' => 'welcome-text',
'name' => __( 'Welcome Text', 'genesis' ),
'description' => __( 'This is the welcome text widget.', 'themename' ),
) );And did you modify the second half of the code as I suggested in my last communication to include this:
if ( is_home() )

AnitaKeymasterIf you follow the instructions for Brian's Welcome Widget and set the hook for home page only - it will give you the 960 widget you are desiring.
**Update**
Someone asked on the blog how to get it on the home page only and John Buscall graciously supplied the correct code which specified - if ( is_home() ) to get it on the home page only./** Add the welcome text section */add_action( ‘genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap’, ‘custom_welcome_text’ );
function custom_welcome_text() {
if ( is_home() )
genesis_widget_area( ‘welcome-text’, array(
‘before’ => ”,
) );
}

AnitaKeymasterWell when I first installed it from my initial download - none of the images would show up. I went to the Download area and saw that there was a 1.0.1 version, so I download that one and then the images showed up. Then I had set a static page and that resulted in the image displaying as the featured image on the page and the background image showed up so there were two of the same picture. So you cannot use a static front really for it. And once I took the static page off - the arrows showed up.
