I really don't understand why you don't see it. You placed the code in your theme, I see it there now.

That is a third party plugin developed by Ron Rennick. You should probably post this question on the support page located here.

Then try the latter part of my suggestion, exclude the id of the Sold on Genesis > Theme Settings > Categories Archives settings.

Instead of using the hooks, you'd benefit more by adding an after-post widget area. Please your adsense code in there. Then use the text box on the home page. Brad's instructions here show you various ways to do this - one of which is registering the sidebar for the after-post widget.
Can you post the code you used in the hook box over here and also state which hook area you used?
