I am a bit confused by what you want. I see one of the thumbnail images on the page. The theme will not upsize an image, it will only downsize. You have to set up your thumbnail image sizes, then add the featured image to your posts via the Featured Image function. As I stated before, you will then need to regenerate your thumbnail images if you ever change the size of the thumbnails in the functions.
Types is a unique system and has it’s own set of Output instructions. You should probably start with their documentation as their set, shortcodes, etc., are what you need to be using.
You are using the Lifestyle theme. You will need to add a new widget area under the navigation. Follow these instructions and hook the new widget/sidebar under your navigation – http://www.briangardner.com/welcome-text-widget/.
In order to do that, you need to pull that widget area out of the main wrap. Read this – http://www.carriedils.com/move-header-footer-genesis/948/. You will have to add individual wraps in there for the slider to spread entire width of the screen.

You need to regenerate your thumbnails when you switch images sizes. Install this – http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/. If you want the images to float to the left – change alignnone to alignleft also.
Prose is a beast. I just helped another guy with his Prose theme. If you want me to take a look at your code from here, send me a note using the contact form on my website. I will send you some instructions.

I made a mistake when I wrote that. Minimum doesn’t have a slider it has the home page image. The four arears where the social media buttons are located are widget areas. The sample theme does not have those areas. Well there is one for Genesis but I don’t know if they will update it to include 2.0. A lot of your knowledge will be gained by working with the framework, child themes and posting on here. That’s how a lot of us learned.
You communicated just fine. Excerpts do not show the READ MORE… it’s not programmed to do that. If you want the Read More at the end, you need to use the “Content Limit” feature in the Featured Post widget.
In the widget you have on there for your posts – look in there and you will see a drop down where you see Content Excerpt – click it, add Content Limit and then put the number of characters to display.
