The positioning issue was fixed thanks to your help.
However, for the functions.php fix, when I copy-paste the code in the file, the website crashes and stop loading. I tried adding the closing > but still the same issue.
Thank you.
jazzybazzMemberI did it by copy pasting your code a second time, but replacing #nav by #subnav. Now everything works as expected. Thank you very much for your help.
jazzybazzMemberthank you very much Derek. It works good. there is still one more thing I need to fix.
The code you wrote selects the ancestor in the menu but not the direct parent.
See for example this page: http://goo.gl/aawVqo
The path of this page is Services ==> Expertise ==> this page
==> means "is the parent of"As you can see, the menu label "Services" (the ancestor) is in the active state which is part of what I wanted, but how to make "Expertise" active as well?
I tried copying and pasting your entire code a second time but with replacing ancestor by parent but it did not work.
Thank you very much
jazzybazzMemberI have managed to fix the footer-widget area. The solution was to manually hook 3 opening <divs>. It seems like the theme wasn't coded properly.
Last thing to fix is the widgetized footer. ( http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-widgetized-footer/ ) I don't know what name I need to use for add_action and remove_action.
jazzybazzMemberIf I do this:
remove_action( 'genesis_before_footer', 'genesis_footer_widget_areas' );
add_action( 'genesis_after_loop', 'genesis_footer_widget_areas' );footer-widgets is outside the wrap. any hook after genesis_after_loop and it is outside the wrap.
Now if I do this (the hook just before genesis_after_loop)
remove_action( 'genesis_before_footer', 'genesis_footer_widget_areas' );
add_action( 'genesis_after_endwhile', 'genesis_footer_widget_areas' );footer-widgets completely dissapear.
any ideas why?
jazzybazzMemberAlright, I have managed to get the look I want. I edited the wrap class in styles.css. The only thing that needs to be fixed is that I need to include the sidebar footer and footer-widgets inside the wrap.
Any guidence will be appreciated, thank you very much.
jazzybazzMemberI made a typo, I want the new widget row to be AFTER home-middle and before footer area. In other words, between "Inspection" and "company news".
thank you
