I have that installed already, yes. Still have those problems.
little shivaMemberI'm still not getting the rollover effect. Any other ideas?
little shivaMemberJesse rocks!
little shivaMemberAaaah, that's it! Thank you so much!
little shivaMemberCan someone help me with the original question please? I can send you the login privately.
little shivaMemberTried again: it's neither h1 nor h2 nor even h3. Now what?
little shivaMemberSorry, just now getting back to this - have been busy with other work. Ok, I took firebug and selected a menu item in the NEWS theme main navigation menu, and tried the submenu too. I can't figure out if the type there is h1, h2 or what. How can I tell?
little shivaMemberHALLELUJAH! With a little more research, I found exactly what I needed: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-author-byline/
Problem solved!
Tip: I had to use the word "byline" in my search - duuh!
little shivaMemberOh, holy hell, it gets worse! I installed a plugin called Co-Authors Plus. Tried modifying an author" seemed to work in the backend, but not the frontend. I read the plugin's FAQ and got this: http://vip.wordpress.com/documentation/incorporate-co-authors-plus-template-tags-into-your-theme/
I'm not a code person, and the people on the team who will be maintaining this site are even more clueless than me. I use WordPress precisely for that reason: so I don't have to deal with code! But the ability to display authors in the meta data under an article's title without signing them up as users is a crucial feature: I need to be able to do this. There MUST be another way!
little shivaMemberAnd just so I could say I at least tried, I took a deep breath, found the functions.php file for the NEWS theme, added the code as instructed on that link you sent, made sure I clicked all the buttons to make the guest-author addition take effect on the test page I made, and nope - it didn't work. It's still saying that that page was published by the admin's name (default).
little shivaMemberAlso, there's no way to even add users without having real e-mail addresses associated with them.
little shivaMemberOuch! That's way scarier than me or anyone on my team can deal with. Isn't there a plugin that can make this happen without having to go play with code? I looked at Genesis simple edits, but I don't think that's it. Adding authors will be a crucial feature of this job - I need to find an easy way to do it.
little shivaMemberCan anyone please provide an explicit example? I'm not so great with code...
little shivaMemberI'm not good with code: can anyone help me edit the type on the Genesis Responsive Slider widget any other way, or give me a step-by-step example with code please?

I switched! But I can't pay for pro just now, and am not sure that the secret client link would let you in to admin anyway. If someone would like to help me in a private message, let me know and I'll give you access.
January 4, 2013 at 4:53 am in reply to: NEWS theme flux not displaying in middle bottom widget #9451little shivaMemberI can't because it's hiding behind an under construction page - client doesn't want it visible while in development, of course.
little shivaMemberOh, I get it now - thanx! That's a really useful tag: it would be nice to have it added to the visual editor, like the "read more" thing.
The way I did it was to look at the live page, figure out where I wanted the text to break, then go into the html editor and add the tag after the appropriate paragraph. Then I repeated that process for each page. Is that how you do it?
little shivaMemberThanx Ozzy and Brian. Brian, what does the Next Page tag look like in the editor? I'm not seeing it.
little shivaMemberIf that link doesn't work, try http://www.littleshiva.com/firebug-screenshot.png
little shivaMemberI'm not very good with code. I opened firebug and selected the text to inspect, but don't know what to do with the answers. Here's a screenshot. I'd like to modify the transparent box position and the type size of the titles. Having the title run across the bottom starting in the lower left corner would be better than having it all over the picture. http://www.sap-rood.net/i/firebug-screenshot.png
The red is the hover state for that text - normally it's black.
