Ryan, Thanks for the help man. It turns out that I hadn't cleared my site cache in cloudflare. So I did that and obviously was able to see the changes! Thanks for taking the time to help get me straightened out. I am easily overwhelmed by code, so I'm appreciative to folks like you that are willing to point us in the right direction!
For anyone with the same problem, here's the code that worked for me
#header {
background:url(images/header.png) center repeat-x !important;
background-color: #000000 !important;
background-position: center !important;
background-repeat: repeat-x !important;
margin: 0 auto;
min-height: 120px;
overflow: hidden;
width: 100%;
}#title-area {
background: url(images/logo.png) no-repeat;
float: left;
overflow: hidden;
width: 430px;
}Matt@theDIYvillageMemberI'll wait a while and see what happens. The only cache plugin I've got is w3 total cache...and it's completely disabled at the moment. Is there something else I should be disabling?
Over the past week, I've had problems with all kinds of theme adjustments. I'm hoping that there isn't a larger underlying issue with my code.
Matt@theDIYvillageMemberI've disable my cache. Are you seeing the changes now?
Matt@theDIYvillageMemberAlright, Ryan, I've added the additional rule.
Here's what my header code is looking like:
#header {
background: #090909 url(images/header.png) center repeat-x !important;
background-position: center !important;
background-repeat: repeat-x !important;
margin: 0 auto;
min-height: 120px;
overflow: hidden;
width: 100%;
background-color: #090909 !important;
}But I'm still showing the blank background rather than the black
Matt@theDIYvillageMemberWould this code within functions.php have anything to do with it?
/** Add support for custom header */
add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array(
'width' => 1060,
'height' => 120Matt@theDIYvillageMemberRyan, I've adjusted the css to reflect your temporary fix, but I'm still showing the same header image
Matt@theDIYvillageMemberOkay Ryan, Within the Appearance/Header Menu, I've restored to the original header image.
Thanks for taking the time to help. I can be considered a code newbie...
Matt@theDIYvillageMember@rfemeier, To be honest, I'm not sure. The restore original option is within the appearance/header menu. But when I have attempted that, it still shows a header image that doesn't span the full width of the page.
Matt@theDIYvillageMemberI've deleted the header image through the appearance menu. Do I need to restore to original? It is currently showing a blank header with my logo.png overlayed
Matt@theDIYvillageMember@rfmeier, yes, that's exactly what I'm hoping to accomplish.
Matt@theDIYvillageMemberHey Matt! Thanks for the tips, but I seem to still be having trouble. I modified the stylesheet as instructed, restored the header image, and uploaded my logo.png to the images file for the theme, but I've got a blank space on the right side of my header still and no logo...
And how come my header and footer ads have blank backgrounds?
Anybody have any thoughts?
Matt@theDIYvillageMember@damangmedia, would you care to take a look at my site and point me in the right direction? I seem to have done something to the header.png where it's not covering the full width of the page. It's leaving a small space on the right hand side. I've got a logo that I'd like to lay on top of the header.png or I've considered just modifying it in illustrator so that the logo and the header are just one image. In any case, I'm at a loss and could use some help!
Thanks in advance!
