Hello All,
I am using Agency Pro to build a site and for the Home Middle I would like to have a defined text appear when the images are hovered over, rather than the beginning of my posts.
I would assume that Show Excerpt would allow me to do that but cannot figure out how to make that happen.
I see it in one of the Showcase examples:
http://www.waltersresortmn.com/
Here is my site, I am going to shoot square images for the rest so I only have 2 images so far.
Thanks in advance,
Bert
May 13, 2015 at 9:36 am #152006timothywMemberlooks like you figured it out already.
May 13, 2015 at 10:03 am #152008KahunaMemberNo I have not figured it out.
What I want is to place a different string of text rather than the beginning of a post:
Here is an example of what I want to do:

Here is the example of what I don't want which is the beginning of my post:
Is there a way to do what walters resort did?

May 13, 2015 at 10:21 am #152009MoodyRivieraMemberI see what you mean...OK...I'm not any kind of expert on these things, and haven't used the Agency Pro theme, but I looked at the setup instructions for that theme, and it looks like you can control what text appears over the photos by using certain categories.
Not sure this will help, but in case you haven't read the setup instructions, check this out and see if it makes a difference...it seems to explain it fairly well:

I have set up the site using that tutorial, I just can't seem to specify what text goes in that widget.
I know it can be done because of the Walter's Resort site...

May 13, 2015 at 12:19 pm #152033MoodyRivieraMemberTo see if I could help, I did a quick set up of the Agency Pro theme on one of my test sites, and I am able to get the effect that I *think* you are looking for.
If you go to the site you'll see six photos in the grid. You will also see that they all have overlaid text from a *post*. And if you click on any of the photos #6 through #2 you will be taken to a *post* that has that same text.
I assume that's what you do *not* want.
But if you click the photo at the lower righthand corner of the grid #1 (which I have set up a different way) you will see that it takes you to a *page* rather than a post where there is text that is *different* from the post text overlaying the photo.
I assume this is what you *do* want.
If I'm wrong about this, read no further.
But if I'm right...if this is the effect you want, then go back and read the entire page in the theme setup instructions (which I referred you to earlier), where they describe how to use the "Page Links To" plugin, which will produce the effect I have on my test page. Rather than taking you to the *post* when you click over the photo it will take you to a *page* where you can have totally different text, etc.
Worked for me...I hope it will work for you.
(Please excuse if I'm still missing your point.)
