So I have updated my style.css for block quotes as seen below.
The problem is the quotes before the blockquote are still showing up. I deleted the cache so I don't know what is wrong.
blockquote {
color: #555;
font-size: 18px;
font-size: 1.8rem;
line-height: 1.67;
margin: 35px;
position: relative;
border-left:6px solid #c1c1c1;
}/*blockquote::before {
color: #ddd;
content: "\201C";
display: block;
font-size: 80px;
font-size: 8rem;
height: 0;
left: -.75em;
position: absolute;
top: -.5em;
}*/blockquote cite {
color: #707070;
display: block;
font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif;
font-size: 13px;
font-size: 1.3rem;
font-style: normal;
font-weight: 900;
letter-spacing: 0.08em;
margin-top: 24px;
text-transform: uppercase;
}blockquote cite:before {
http://createcontentment.com/listening/
content: "\2014 \2009";
}November 30, 2017 at 4:04 pm #214157Victor FontModeratorI don't see any quotes unless that are part of the text. All that's there are blue or gray lines.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?November 30, 2017 at 5:44 pm #214159athomp2978MemberYes I did get the left border to work and get rid of the quotes, but the quote at the top of the page should cite Ernest Hemingway.
This is what I wrote in the post to show the quote with cite.
I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen.

I meant to show you the html code for the block quote I used.
Am I using the cite function correctly below?

December 1, 2017 at 8:48 am #214172Victor FontModeratorCite is not an inline attribute of blockquote. Cite is a separate element that may stand alone or be embedded within a blockquote. Here's the specification: https://www.w3.org/TR/html5/grouping-content.html#the-blockquote-element
This thread is straying off-topic for this forum. The forum is for questions about the Genesis Framework and Studio Press themes. Questions about proper HTML usage would serve you better if posted to stackexchange or a general purpose forum.
