Hi - I hope this is the best forum for this question. I have always learned best by working through existing code when it represents my current website. There are lots of tutorials on creating css and many of them are outdated or don't work as stated.
I have printed off the style.css for the child theme Lifestyle Pro and would like to work through it at code level.
For example:
1. Where do I find out what the HTML Reset does in simple English?
2. If I add an import for a Google font, where is the best place to add the code?
3. What do Float Clearing and Box Sizing do?Working through in this way will help me understand the HTML code and also identify the areas I can change to meet my needs. I have tried many things but unfortunately the instructions people give often doesn't work. Instead of pulling my hair out in frustration, I thought it better to learn through thee use of my actual style.css. I am a pensioner so have lots of time to work through it but would like to think that it wouldn't take far too long - like within my lifetime.
If you could point me towards some tutorials or videos it would be appreciated. There are many available for the surface level changes through the customization but that doesn't really help.

I printed of the style.css for my child theme LifestylePro.
I want to learn to read or at least understand the content and how it works so I can make changes to my websites.
At the beginning of the printout there is a Table of Contents. In it there is a HTML5 Reset followed by - Baseline Normalise, - Box Sizing, - Float Clearing.
This tells me that there are three sections HTML5 Reset, Box Sizing and Float Clearing.
Obviously I want to understand how these and the rest of the contents impact my website.
Basically as I work through the Contents the more I will understand and be able to change the child theme code to fit my needs.
When I look up Float Clearing using Google I get this:
The float property specifies whether or not an element should float.
The clear property is used to control the behavior of floating elements.
Which doesn't really explain what it is for and when you would use it or why it is in my style.css.
What I want is a tutorial or something that will aid me to work through my child theme css so I can understand it.
Hope that is clearer.
