Hello - I have a blog and I want to set up a child theme for design layout purposes. I am working on wordpress 4.4.1. I think the first step is to make sure the genesis framework 2.1 is installed. I am not sure if I can do this or not or even where to go to find that? Sorry I am new to this sort of development. Thank you in advance.
January 29, 2016 at 2:21 pm #177839ChristophMemberHi,
Genesis is at version 2.2.6 right now, so that´s the version you'd want to install.
Log in to your account at
http://my.studiopress.com/downloads/
Download Genesis Framework and the child theme you want to use (Genesis Sample if you don't have access to another child theme). In the WordPress Dashboard go to Appearance - Themes.
Click on Add new (At the top of the page, right next to the page title Themes)
Click on Upload Theme (At the top of the page, right next to the page title Add Themes)
Click on Choose File and select the genesis.zip file you just downloaded and click Open
Click on Install now.
Repeat those steps for the child theme and click on Activate after the child theme is installed. You can also follow this tutorial:
http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/install-genesis-child-theme/
and the Theme Setup guides that you will find on the downloads page:http://my.studiopress.com/setup/genesis-sample-theme-setup/

I did get the Genesis Framework installed, but what I think I want to do is to setup/install the Agent Press Pro child theme installed. I am sort of grasping at straws here. It is just that I am pretty sure that that is ultimately the theme I want to work with for the layout and design. Does that make any sense? I have never installed a child theme before, but it sure seems like the best way to go. Thank you in advance. -Beth
February 1, 2016 at 1:45 pm #178082SusanModeratorInstalling a child theme involves the same steps as installing the Genesis Framework. You just need to install Genesis first. In your setup instructions for AgentPress Pro, there are instructions for installing a child theme.

February 3, 2016 at 2:42 pm #178260Victor FontModeratorYou don't want to use the Genesis Framework as your theme. You need to use a child theme. You could always start with the Genesis Sample theme.

February 20, 2016 at 6:06 am #179452Victor FontModeratorIt doesn't appear that you are using a Genesis. You are using the iconic-one free WordPress theme. We can only help you with Studio Press themes.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?April 2, 2016 at 4:52 am #182722resweek9MemberHello,
I am running word press blogs like http://www.resultkey16.in and http://www.aptsjobs.in... I have a doubt.. How to Install Genesis Framework 2.1 to my sites. Is it possible to do it,,,,,,April 2, 2016 at 6:13 am #182723Genesis DeveloperMember@resweek9 create your own thread.
April 3, 2016 at 12:40 pm #182800DerekMember@resweek9 I agree that you should create a separate thread because if you have further issues we can help you without having to reply to 3 different people on there problems.
I don't know where you getting your information from but as of today...2.2.7 is the latest version. The framework and installing a child theme is so easy and it's painless to do.
Once you purchase a theme, just follow the instructions/guides on how to do all of this. I did it myself years ago and if I ran into one issue, I emailed the staff and I had it fixed fast because they replied with detailed instructions.
Either myself or any other member on this forum will help you out but you need to start a thread right now.
