Hi,
I am new to blogging and trying to set up my site. I bought the Modern Blogger Pro theme. Anyway, my question is how do I add posts to my pages? I created a categories page and a custom menu but it didn't work out. I am having a hard time figuring this out.
Can someone please break this down for me? I don't know anything about coding right now, so this needs to be real simple for me.
Appreciate your assistance.

Appreciate your time.
July 31, 2014 at 10:37 am #116455DTHkellyMemberThe link Brad included http://www.singlemommylife.com/category/parenting/ shows how a category is "automatically" created in wordpress as a URL.
.com/category/parenting/
You created a Page named parenting, and added that page to your menu. http://www.singlemommylife.com/parenting/
The term category is missing from the URL.Brad suggested you add an entire URL http://www.singlemommylife.com/category/parenting/ to your menu (replacing the page "named" parenting).
This tutorial (at the bottom) shows how to add a URL link to "home" in your menu. See if that helps.

http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/category-blog-page/Next: This is more advanced coding, but the tutorial includes some screen captures that may help you "see" how a regular page can hold excerpts of posts from 1 category.

Consider using a free plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/code-snippets/ to add php code to your site.

Also, it would be great for someone else with this issue, if you would post your solution.
August 1, 2014 at 5:10 pm #116610AnitaKeymasterI provided them with offline assistance. What was added to their nav was not categories but page titles. What I provided them below is what they needed.
Go to Posts and then Categories. Create your blog categories there - do not use pages, the categories will create the pages for you.
Once you create the categories, then go to Menus and select the Categories from the category area and add them to the menu and Save it. Then go to the front of the website and click on them and all of the posts under, say the Parenting category will show up on a page.
If you want a page that lists out all of your blogs - go to Pages > Add new. Give it a title called Blogs. Then on the right - under Page Templates - select Blog and save it. You don't need to type anything on that page.
Then go back to Menus. Add the newly created Blog to the navigation. Go back to the front and click the tab Blog and you will see all of the blogs.
They just need to put it all in place now.
Love coffee, chocolate and my Bella!
