I seem to have lost my admin bar for some reason. I don't think it has to do with the recent update to WordPress because other websites using the same child theme seem to work fine.

I tried de-activating all plugins to see if there is a conflict, but that does not bring the solution.
Can someone help me out with a suggestion where to look?

Thanks!December 15, 2016 at 6:30 am #197612Sachin VermaMemberGo to: Dashboard > Users > Your Profile
make sure that Show Toolbar when viewing site is checked.

December 15, 2016 at 8:51 am #197622SusanModeratorHave you switched to a default WordPress theme to determine if that resolves the issue (trying to rule out it being a child theme issue or a Genesis Framework issue).
December 15, 2016 at 8:59 am #197626dkfParticipantHi Susan, I tried the 2017 theme and it doesn't work either. So, it's a WordPress issue then and not a Genesis issue? Not the right place for this problem maybe. I'll try the WordPress forum. Thanks for your reaction.
December 15, 2016 at 9:46 am #197631SusanModeratorYou can still ask here - I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't something that was Genesis specific - there are files that you can check for specific codes, but I didn't want to have you mess with the Genesis core files if it wasn't a Genesis / child theme specific issue.
Take a look at this post on troubleshooting the missing admin bar: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-fix-missing-admin-bar-issue-in-wordpress/
December 15, 2016 at 10:20 am #197634dkfParticipantHi Susan,
Thanks. I already did check the same link you sent me. But I was confused because the Outreach Pro theme does not have a footer.php. The genesis the does have a footer.php, but I don't like to work in it because I know too little of the coding. But, I checked the footer.php file with the standard WordPress Theme 2017 activated. The <?php wp_footer(); ?> is there, and the admin is still missing. So that does not seem to be the problem. Am I right?
I noticed that my CSS Hero plugin is not working right. So maybe there's a problem there. But de-activating the plugin does not do the trick either.
Any other suggestions?
December 15, 2016 at 11:27 am #197637Victor FontModeratorIs your site running PHP 7 or higher? My site had been running fine on PHP 7.1 until some plugins were updated then I lost the admin bar and admin area completely. I reverted back to PHP 5.6 and all returned. A lot of plugin developers haven't caught up with the changes in PHP 7+. I know someone who lost the forum on her site because of old coding techniques. She is running BubbyPress and that plugin is definitely not coded for PHP 7.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?December 16, 2016 at 5:21 am #197675dkfParticipantHi Victor,
Thanks for your response. My site is working on PHP 5.6.
I'm trying to figure out if the problem is caused by the CSS Hero plugin which is not working as it should.
Any other suggestions are welcome. -
