Themes usually do not interfere with RSS, since that is generated by WordPress.
I see it working fine.

Andrea RennickMemberHave you added the code to home.php? You can add the div there.

Andrea RennickMemberI'm seeing it there now, so I'm guessing caching.

Andrea RennickMemberI only fill those out if I want something more finely crafted than what will be pulled by default.

Andrea RennickMemberYou really need to post a link to the site. 😉

April 24, 2013 at 7:49 am in reply to: Determining Exact Image Size for Genesis Responsive Slider etc. #37383Andrea RennickMemberThe excerpt overlaps the images. Your images are at the correct size.
Check the theme css - it may have forced a width on the excerpt. We did the same in Executive.

Andrea RennickMemberIf not, should I just use posts and redirect to the page I want? That seems a bit clunky, but maybe that’s the only way to do it?
That's what I would do.
Similarly, in the Home Middle widget area, I used three Featured Page widgets. Again, I want custom content here that links to it’s page. Does the Featured Page widget only support automatic excerpts?
Yes. If you really want to fine tune it, use a text widget with HTML.

Andrea RennickMemberResolved in help desk.
You have a specific page set as the home page. This will override the theme's home.php template.Go to Settings -> Reading and pick "your latest posts" so the template can work as intended.

Andrea RennickMemberIt's actually less efficient because there are more calls to separate files.
And yes, you can do it with php includes. That's not WordPress specific, it's just php.

Andrea RennickMemberNo, there is not.
The home page is widgetized, and setting a static home page will override it.
There are a few Maintenace Mode plugins out there you can use to show visitors that you are working on the site, then you can set it up quickly.

Andrea RennickMemberNo the designers do not visit the forums. Neither does staff, usually.
This is a *community* based forum, not official support. Official support is in the help desk.
Right now, I have no idea what theme you are using on what site URL, so there could be half a dozen reasons it's showing the full post.
It would be much better if you filed an actual help desk ticket. Login to http://my.studiopress.com/ and click the "Get Help" link on the right side.

Andrea RennickMemberThe documentation on how to set it up like the demo is currently being rewritten.
It does work if you follow the steps though. Just gotta go careful and slow. Setting up the taxonomies first and then importing the demo content gets you most of the way there, then you just drag widgets in place.
Also, the HElp Desk is the best spot to go to get help in setting themes up like the demo.

Andrea RennickMemberGo to Settings -> PErmalinks and check your settings there.
The themes do not create the links, they just display what you have in the settings.
