Are you entering the code in "text mode?"

AnitaKeymasterFunctions is just telling it what to do.... home is providing the place for that action to be located.

AnitaKeymasterLook in the Home.php file for that widget area and remove it from there.

AnitaKeymasterAll plugins come with step by step instructions on how to use them. Just look on the Plugin page on the Repository and they tell you what you need to do.

AnitaKeymasterInstall this plugin that will include Pages in your RSS feed - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/rss-includes-pages/.

AnitaKeymasterThe Video Thumbnail is just that... a thumbnail. It will not execute the video in a pop up window. But install the plugin, go to your blog where your Video link has been added and you will see Video Thumbnail on the side by Featured Video. Once you save it - the thumbnail will automatically become your featured image. There are instructions on the Video Thumbnail page.

AnitaKeymasterNote: Always DEACTIVATE ALL PLUGINS before you perform an automatic WP upgrade. This will save you the pain.

AnitaKeymasterI won't worry about it now. The client wants a theme from Themeforest since I couldn't get this to work. I'm marking this RESOLVED. Thank you for trying.

AnitaKeymasterI really have to learn all this stuff. I have a site I am working on where they want to go paperless for meetings. There's 5 meetings and the secretary will need to create a new meeting date, add the agenda and then attach the PDFs to that particular meeting. Then they can view them on their tablets. However, I haven't figured out how to do it - but looking at what you did for the church let's me know it can be done.

AnitaKeymasterI used
FirefoxFirebug and it's somewhere in the wp-admin/load-styles.php file. The image is actually a sprite.

AnitaKeymasterHere it is - http://ow.ly/halVk. I set it back to the default settings and added my image back because I started getting errors playing around with it.

AnitaKeymasterSo I had to scrap all the custom code and start from the beginning. I have the slider in there but why isn't it full width like the original sample image? I have the slider set at 1600 x 600 and yet it's not showing up that way. What am I doing wrong and will this even work? There's the board around the slider, etc., I wanted a fading image the size and appearance of the sample image. This isn't giving me that effect.

AnitaKeymasterI responded above. I have played around with the code and still get two featured images on the home page. What did I do wrong in the code provided above?

AnitaKeymasterLook for this code and add this to it - padding-top: 125px;
#header .widget-area {
float: right;
width: 75%;}

AnitaKeymasterI don't believe you can use the two of them together. You will need to try one or the other to see if they fit your needs first. You may need a combination of both but I think the expertise you will need may not reside here.

AnitaKeymasterThat's nice Nick. I especially like when I click Ministries how you have the time, etc., next to each one and when you click a header they have there own sidebar. That's pretty cool. Does the theme do that naturally or did you create that especially for your church?

AnitaKeymasterHi Sean, great start. A few tips though. The first is to make sure your images are size consistent so you don't have the extra white space on some of them and not on others. The second is to review your middle navigation. Your headers are leading to an error. Review the URL for those headers and make sure that there is only a pound (#) sign in there and not any slashes (/).

January 27, 2013 at 7:49 am in reply to: What could be effect of large image size in NextGEN Gallery plugin? #15276AnitaKeymasterThe same thing will may occur. I don't believe NextGEN has the capability to reduce the file size. You may want to review the NextGEN documentation to see what sizes they recommend.

AnitaKeymasterDid this occur after the update?

AnitaKeymasterYou need to create a Custom Menu and drag it into the Header Widget Area. The instructions are here - http://my.studiopress.com/setup/eleven40-theme/.
