I've found it rather challenging to follow this (as all the child themes seem different), so I opted to remove the text from the image and overlay it with the site title to keep it all looking crisp on retina devices.
Studiopress advertise this theme as being retina enabled. However, by default uploading of a custom header is not retina enabled so virtually all the sites I have seen using this child theme don't look very good on retina displays. I hope they sort out an easy mechanism that allows uploading (and proper) display of images that are twice as wide and twice as tall so that they display well on retina displays. Then, they will be able to properly advertise the child theme as being retina enabled.

markheathMemberThanks. I played around and nothing seemed to work, so I am leaving it. It's a bit frustrating when I focus on the issue when viewing the site on my iPad so I will try to focus on something else!

markheathMemberNo it's not working. If you shrink the site, you will find a point when the text is no longer centralised. It is an image, so the right hand side is being slightly cut off. When you shrink it further, it sorts itself out again.
