Hi Nick,
I just got your support email and replied and it came back as undeliverable.
Again, I really like studiopress, so I don't want to sound ungrateful for the help because I really do need and appreciate it, but it seems like this new system isn't really working very well.
I started this thread to get opinions from others and nobody has replied, so maybe it is working well for them.
netviperMemberI bought it. Moved one last night in about 1 minute. Wow. Thanks guys!
netviperMemberNothing so far. 🙁
netviperMemberI have read it, but it still doesn't do it for me.
I am finding using Genesis is taking me longer to do a site than just an old template I used to use.
The documentation is not very good. It is very simple. But to really do anything you have to use all these hooks and actions etc, and I have no idea how to do that.
Just today I was trying to use the Generate theme and remove the posts and add a widget on the homepage. After wasting an hour I gave up.
I bought Genesis because I thought it would help me build better, faster sites, but I am finding unless I want the site to basically be exactly like the child theme layout, it is very hard to use.
I want to love Genesis, but right now I just find it frustrating and I see no way to actually learn how to use what it can actually do other than a few tutrorials outside of the Genesis main website. I mean, if it is so confusing that Nick had to make a series to explain it on his own site, why isn't that kind of tutorial available from studiopress?
It feels like Genesis was really made for programmers, and that I am not. 🙁
netviperMemberIt looks like there are several plugins out there that do what their other ones do. Maybe I will do just Backup Buddy.
netviperMemberIs it worth getting their other plugins? or just back up buddy?
netviperMemberhow?
netviperMemberI really like what you did there. Would love to talk to you offline sometime.
netviperMemberI would say my skill level is pretty good, but I have no real expereince with the hooks.
Can you show what you have done with minium thus far?
Here is what I have done. -- its not done yet.

netviperMemberYes I was just checking it out in firebug. I guess I thought it was something special. Guess not. Any suggestions on what Studio Press theme would be good to build something like that? They do want it responsive.
netviperMemberSo you think they just took a slider and then used CSS positoining to put the header on top of it?
netviperMemberI have an issue with that stuff too. I haven't found anywhere - other than some of nicks stuff - that explains how to use any of the hooks and filters. It is very different even for people that have used WP for years that have never before needed to do that.
netviperMemberI could use a third party that secures the data like wufoo forms?
netviperMemberFor whatever reason, everyone just seem to skip my post that said the same thing as Jeff, but again, I don't see the point of removing the forums. That is a much better and more efficient way of getting actual community support vs. a one-on-one ticket system. I don't see why you can't both both really.
netviperMemberSo the new support seems like a step backwards to me. I liked being able to post it in the forum and get help from other members as well as studiopress. I also liked being able to search old questions where I could get answers and not need to start a new thread. Plus you could get responses quickly.
Now it seems it can take 24 hours to get a response and I can't search others questions and answers. Everything is private.
Maybe I am wrong, but is that how it works now? Or is it not launched yet?
