I've seen this happen in 3 cases:
1. Your browser has a javascript error - try a different browser.
2. You are in "Accessibility Mode". Open up Screen Options in the upper right corner of the window while in your widgets panel. Accessibility mode disables drag and drop
3. You have a plugin conflict. Try disabling all plugins and see if that fixes it.rickandersonaiaMemberAbsolutely - they'll fix it for you and guarantee that it won't happen again.
rickandersonaiaMemberAlthough I suspect that the real problem is that your site has been hacked. I've seen this issue now 4 times in the last 48 hours with different folks.
The symptom is that the typical WordPress/Genesis body class system isn't rendering properly.
You can test my suggestion by scanning your site at sucuri.net. The code that has caused the problem can be found at the top of your functions.php file.
rickandersonaiaMemberSo the problem appears to be related to a hack. If you look in your functions.php file (both the Genesis and child theme versions) you will probably see a bunch of base 64 code at the top of the files.
You can (and should) test your site at Sucuri to see what they say about it. However, I've tested the various sites that I know of they all have the same hack.
I will be demonstrating the fix for this in the seminar today.
rickandersonaiaMemberSchlomo, while I don't usually post here, I've seen this problem 3 other times in the last couple of days. The reason the header is broken is that the automatic body class isn't working properly.
If you view your page source you will see that the <body> tag doesn't have any classes added to it. I don't at the moment know how to fix it. I was reviewing this forum in the hopes that someone else had encountered this and figured it out.
In yesterday's Q&A session we "diagnosed" this as a WordPress issue and I scheduled a special seminar on how to fix it. However, now that it has arisen different times with different hosts, child themes, and versions of WordPress I'm not sure it is actually a problem with WordPress.
If I figure it out, I'll post the solution back here.
