There is no current widget space for where this theme wants to dump ALL posts... makes no sense to me. I don't want to mod the php code just to control the lame pagination for posts on the front page, but I will do that as I see it in another users response.
But the posts/pages themselves... is there no way to either eliminate them or control them that is built into this theme...
I would prefer fewer themes with better design and controls within them, than what sometimes appear to be slightly half-baked themes where its assumed that you want all the posts on the front page, or you don't want the fairly well done responsive image with text that disappears if you un-check the posts on the front page.
Love to be missing something....
strategichelpMemberI see the static page where you can show recent posts, but I need to have some control over numbers, categories, etc. of posts showing on the home page area below the "Welcome" area.
strategichelpMemberAnd... sorry for the add-on question, what criteria is determining what posts are displayed on the middle section of the home page? I do not see a widget for that area where I could say only show 3 posts, or only show certain categories....?
strategichelpMemberThanks, Cristoph, seems wonky to me to have the pagination buttons show next to an area that is not affected by the pagination buttons, and the design hardly seems responsive if they do, especially on a mobile device. Grumble, whine.
January 23, 2013 at 2:55 pm in reply to: Line Breaks & formatting in Featured Pages/Posts widget #14124strategichelpMemberYes., thanks. Not a lot of plug-ins on this site... but will check. If anyone else has suggestions I'd like to hear from you. I read in some old (2009, etc.) references something about having to add code to templates to get the more tag to work in pages, etc. is that still the case? So many little code modification make site maintenance a pain.
January 23, 2013 at 2:40 pm in reply to: Line Breaks & formatting in Featured Pages/Posts widget #14115strategichelpMemberThanks, John. However both featured posts and pages ignore the

tag when added to the source post/page, and using the "Full Content" mode of the featured post/page. And other suggestion?Hard to imagine a limit content situation where you would want to ignore line breaks and simply provide text without any formatting. This seems like a strange default. Works so nicely with content limit other than the line break issue. Featured posts/pages seems like a very basic building block for sites that needs formatting control without too many work-arounds. Just my 2 cents.
January 22, 2013 at 11:36 am in reply to: Genesis Slider – Slide alignment between navigation arrows #13740strategichelpMemberThanks For your suggestion anitac, I think yours and support's first suggestion would work, but for a number of reasons I like handling it in the css code and having more room to work with within the slider "frame" area. Thanks again! I'm always impressed with Genesis support and the community here!
January 22, 2013 at 11:31 am in reply to: Genesis Slider – Slide alignment between navigation arrows #13739strategichelpMember-- Read from the bottom to the top - solution is at the top here -- Thanks support!!
StudioPress support replied to my follow up with the exact "gem" that I was looking for - When I dropped this into my style for the child them the slider image, without any extra graphic padding, neatly center aligned itself in my slider!
Add the following to your child themes style.css.
.slide-image {
text-align: center;
}I replied to StudioPress support's suggestion below:
Thanks, I can see your suggestion as a work-around, but is there any way to simply center the image within the overall 550px width of the slider "frame"- instead of having to handle it within every graphic image used? Thanks again for quick response, as I had not thought of the idea you brought up.

StudioPress support replied emailed me from a case I opened:
You have the slider width set to 550px wide and your images are narrower than this.
My recommendation would be to take your images and center them in a new image that is 550px wide.
This will fill up the slider width and give you the equal distance you are looking for.
Thanks,
StudioPress support
