I am one of those that likes Jetpack; however, it is important to only enable the features you want to use.
In particular, I like the sharing and Publicize features, Stats, subscription, search, enhanced distribution and related posts. The Publicize feature is not for everyone, but there are a few sites that I manage where it is very helpful.
I do not use the custom css feature. There are times when updating Jetpack that it deactivates and requires a re connection with WordPress.com. I have seen this happen and not discovered until a few days later. I wouldn't risk temporarily losing css changes if this should occur.
tavismeParticipantI learned that it was a script I added to wp_head for Alexa that caused the problem. Removed the script and everything is displaying as it should.
tavismeParticipantThank you Sridhar Katakam, your tutourial was exactly what I needed!
tavismeParticipantI tried the Simple Hooks plugin and add the html of a banner in the after_header, but the result was not pretty.
Any help is appreciated.
tavismeParticipantI too am frustrating with this theme.
I can say that even after following some tutorials on uploading a full size header, I still don't have a perfect result.
A new header was added and the background was changed to white, but a large blank red banner loads first. There is also a large margin around the header on a smaller screen. I still have not found a fix.
tavismeParticipantNeeded to remove some code. Problem resolved.
tavismeParticipantThanks Brad,
Per set up instructions, I set the home page to Blog Roll so that the widget areas would be activated."Please note: if you choose a static page to show on the home page, this will remove the home widget areas."
I rechecked settings and I don't see what I am missing
December 10, 2013 at 3:33 pm in reply to: WooCommerce No Downloads W/O Manual Order Processing #78169tavismeParticipantThanks for the Google search link.
I did post the issue on WordPress org but never received a response.Your link did give me a suggestion though, I will check with PayPal and see if something is amiss on their end.
Thanks,
tavismeParticipantAdjusting the images did not work, I had to adjust the padding. I changed the margins from 2px to 1px
#home-middle .alignleft {
margin: 0 1px 10px 1px;tavismeParticipantI am still looking for suggestions on how to correct the problem with the responsiveness of the header in the Outreach theme.
The content in the UR widget area drops below the header on Macs and on minimized screens.
Any help is appreciated.
Terri
tavismeParticipantThanks Marcy for your response.
This is what I found:
@media only screen and (max-width: 1200px) {.wrap {
width: 960px;
}#header {
background-size: contain !important;
}#title-area {
width: 330px;
}If I understand what you are saying, I think it looks right.
Also, I can't figure out how the image has been uploaded to the the title-area. I can't find an image that dimension in the library nor is it the logo.png in the theme file.
tavismeParticipantThanks Brad, but I want to only remove the date from the sticky post AND I need to know how to get rid of the URL that is stuck at the top of the the Sticky post on the home page.
I am open to other options. I am trying to create a homepage with blog feed snippets below the static content.
tavismeParticipantI reverted back to pre- Genesis 2.0 and followed the instructions to convert the style sheet on Cobalt Apps. It broke the theme in a very odd way.
I reinstalled the original stylesheet before conversion and reinstalled the Eleven 40 theme.
I need help removing the date and the post URL from the top of the Sticky post on the home page: http://athensdriveptsa.com
Thanks
tavismeParticipantI added this to my css:
.sticky .date {
display: none;
}The post is a sticky post on the home page: http://athensdriveptsa.com
the post is Here: http://athensdriveptsa.com/welcome/I wanted the post to permanently be at the top of the blog posts.
Thanks for any assistance.
tavismeParticipantI submitted this question in a new post and it was resolved.
tavismeParticipantPerfect, thanks so much!
I had looked in several forums for an answer, but none as easy as this!
tavismeParticipantPerfect! Thanks again. I really appreciate your help!
tavismeParticipantWell, I thought my problem was solved, but I have a new issue. I was able to increase the header size with the new bg.png image but the Header upload still limits the allowed size to 115px in height.
I am trying to upload a transparent image overtop the background.
I looking for suggestions on how to upload an image that is 200px tall.
Thanks for any help.
tavismeParticipantThanks so much. that did the trick! I learned something new as well!
tavismeParticipantThank you so much for your response. I apologize but that is a bit beyond my knowledge.
Do you mean that I will need to upload the background image to that folder?Terri
