Try checking out this discussion. It might be that you have malware on your site.
If it was your functions.php file that you were modifying, just copy the functions.php file from your original zip file over to the theme file via FTP and the site should come back.
Try Easy Social Icons where you can upload your own – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/easy-social-icons/screenshots/.
You really don’t need to use the AgentPress theme to get AgentPress functionality. You can use the AgentPress Listing plugin – http://www.studiopress.com/plugins/agentpress-listings with one of the Studiopress Responsive themes.
What do you mean by “some people like to see the actual colors of buttons?” You can change the colors of the Simple Social Icons to whatever color you want.
If you want to add different colors to each tab – you could do this also -
Go to Menus – click “Screen Options” in the top right corner. Put a check mark in the CSS Classes.
Then, open up one of the tabs and add a class name to each tab – for example Tab1, Tab2, etc., etc.
Once you do that, then go to Appearance > Editor. Add the following code to the bottom of your style sheet … adding it for each Tab. Give each tab a different color or you can use a background image if you like.
You could use the Image Widget – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/image-widget/ for that spot which allows for an Image and text. For the panoramic effect you want to achieve, I use Picmonkey.com. They have some really cool image effects you can apply to your image to make it look like the demo, such as blurring backgrounds.
Here’s a good one for restaurant menus – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/easy-restaurant-menu-manager/screenshots/.
P.S. The Elle theme was a bit of beast with the home page and how it was set up. I actually used it for a while. Feel free to email me by going to my website.
The Developer of the Elle theme has her own support – http://demos.northbounddesign.com/elle/support. In the home.php, you can edit the layout. Look at Line 5 and you can change it there. Keep in mind you will still need to change some of the CSS, etc.
I am on there now. Which text would you like to change the font and color on. We have to target those specific areas.
Genesis is a Framework so you have to build in the features you want. They don’t come out the box especially building your own child theme. Here is some suggested reading.

2. To add the widgetized area for your slider you would need to register a new sidebar for that area – http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/register-widget-area/.
A quick way to do it is to use Brian Gardner’s instructions on adding a Welcome Widget which would give you a widgetized area to add your slider – http://www.briangardner.com/welcome-text-widget/.
I revealing the code, there is nothing after the BODY code. Did you modify the home.php file in Expose? Did you try reloading a fresh copy of Expose?
