No, it does not mean all themes will be responsive by default — most of the responsiveness of a theme resides in the CSS and media queries, so there’d be no way for all of the themes to be instantly responsive.

The only way to do that is to choose to display the full content and break the text with the more tag. By default, WordPress parses the content limit and does not render any HTML code.

I would add some CSS to that so you can control how the two columns function. Try adding this to your theme’s style.css file:

}

The grid layout that you linked to is simply a visual breakdown of the content/sidebar widths for the 6 layout options that Genesis has. There’s really no “how to use it” that goes along, since it’s merely showing you the alignment that is built into the new style sheet. Make sense?
